Ammoguide has banned me previously, so . . .

obviously this does not include my presence even for a few hours. AmmoGuide could be A GREAT site, regardless of cost, but IT didn't work with me. cliffy

I signed up for the free account but for some reason it isn't giving me access to the loading data.

I'm a member, but today I tried as a free member and could not get the loads either. The day that I posted the link it worked fine as a free member as I tried it to make sure.
Here's the initial email that I received:

AmmoGuide FREE DAYS are the spirit of Christmas! Each month, we temporarily open up specific AmmoGuide features to FREE members that are normally restricted to paid subscribers. This includes the exclusive AmmoGuide Visual Comparison Tool and AmmoGuide Cartridge Master List.

Starting this morning and lasting through Saturday , we're giving away the powerful Cartridge Master List - The Mother of All Cartridge Browsers. FREE Members, why not stop by AmmoGuide and enjoy this advanced and unique online resource over the next few days? Just login here. (NOTE: On Sunday, December 21, the tool will return to normal.)

I'm real sorry that you having trouble viewing the loads. I have no idea why that has happened. I'll email a complaint to them.

UPDATE: It seems that access to load data is not available. The link that I posted actually logged my membership in automatically due to my cookies link. I tried a new free membership and cannot access the data. I thought that I was doing a good thing here but in essence I just pi$$ed off a few people. Again, I am truly sorry.

I poked around in in while it was free and was not really that impressed. It did not tell me much for the few rounds I checked out (2506, 357mag, 38 special, 10mm) that I did not already know from hitting all of the web forums and buying a lot of books over the years. Also I found the format and all of the adds to be obtrusive.

I am glad it was free because I would have been mad at myself had I actually paid for it.

It's somewhat tightly regulated, but I love the place. What can I say.

Don't go around there suggesting poor reloading practices, or posting excessively over-maximum reloading data. Only a few rare people I can think of have gotten banned and deservedly so. I enjoy THR a lot too though obviously, and in some respects the "looser" yahoo-regulating can be both a plus and a minus at times admittedly.

Dear interested parties,

Thank you for the interest. This should explain the 3 levels of AmmoGuide: demo, free member and paid subscriber:

Personally, I would love to give away all of AmmoGuide for free all of the time, if someone will cover my mortgage and a few other items? :( Until then I'm afraid I'll have to rely on good ol' American capitalism!

Mike

PS. Thank you depolini. You are a valued member of AmmoGuide, I'm pleased to say. To introduce myself, I'm also the webmaster of the Fifty Caliber Institute, co-founder of http://ProjectBoreSnake.org/ (now retired because the military is now issuing bore snakes - HOORAH) and donate the volunteer and legislative systems for http://calnra.com/legs.shtml. In July, I was privileged to receive the NRA Members' Councils of California '2008 Volunteer of the Year' award:

I've been on THR for years, but it's nice to meet those of you I haven't before.

Not all doom and gloom ... I got in just after you posted and screen-scraped all the 7.5 Swiss, 30 Carbine and 223 loadings. Can't hurt to have them as a double check on the books.

Thanks for the posting!

MikeHaas, it's good to meet you. I've been a member of Ammoguide almost since it's inception. It is my go-to site for comparative data to the manuals and online factory/distributor listings. Your links to other sites are invaluable and I thank you for such a great site.
I'm at fault for giving bad information to start this thread, believing that load data was available as a free member for the 3 days. I apologize to all for that.
I often quote Ammoguide for information that is not available anywhere else.
Thank you for providing a great reloading site and congratulations on being named "2008 Volunteer of the Year".

Thanks, Smitty. No problem - the "free days" announcement maybe wasn't as clear as it could have been. I hope you continue to enjoy the site at any level and your post gives me the opportunity to extend an invitation to all THR'ers. Merry Christmas, all!
