I'm satisfied with what I have. For range practice and plinking, I use less expensive white box type ammo, but always from US makers; Winchester, Remington, Etc. I will never foul my guns with Wolf or other crappy imported stuff.
For self defense, I must have new and expensive, controlled expansion self defense ammo that I can be sure will penetrate and expand as advertised after passing through barriers such as leather, denim, dry wall, etc. For my .45's, it is Federal EFMJ, 200 gr. +P, of which I have a large supply. For just about everything else, I like Hornady's Critical Defense. I like Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel +P and magnum loads in my . 38 and .357 wheel guns.
Will any of this stuff work as advertised in a real world use of deadly force? I hope I never have to find out. I rely on my own testing and the manufacturer's reputation.
