I was watching a rerun of Millennium and became curious about one of the actors, Tucker Smallwood. He's been in several SciFi type shows.

Turns out he understands the right to bear arms.

Here's his blog on the subject:

http://tuckersmallwood.com/blog/?p=14

Small excerpt:

"Many will choose not to bear arms or even own them. That is their right. Those of us who want a say in our own well-being deserve an equal hearing. We all have the fundamental right to self-defense. ARE WE NOT MEN?"

There are plenty of Hollywood types who are pro-gun. They're just not as vocal as the antis.

He's a reserved, dignified actor who is fluent in Greek and Vietnamese. So, he won't be featured in the media like Paris Hilton, Charlie Sheen or Britney Spears.

I'm going to send a thanks to his email: [email protected]

"I collect guns and shoot them regularly. It's all purely recreational shooting, I believe in the right to bear arms. I'm beside myself on the banning of the semi- automatic assault rifle. Guns don't kill people, people do. I don't carry a gun, but I respect them. I always take a gun on location because you never know. " (1989)- Charlie Sheen

He is a true American patriot.

"Goodbye to you my trusted friend.
We've known each other since we were nine or ten."

That episode creeped me out! But its nice to see a pro-gun actor, and his blog is interesting. Thanks for pointing it out.

Not all actors are in Hollywood, either. I was shooting at an east coast range recently. When I came in, the range owner was getting his photo taken with a customer. After the customer left, they explained he was an actor who has parts in a couple of better-known series (I don't watch TV, so the names meant nothing to me and didn't "stick"), and he comes in periodocally to shoot.

I agree with some of the posters.... there are probably lots of actors who are pro gun but are no where near as vocal as the antis. That seems to be the norm in any profession.

From IMDB;

Tucker Smallwood, the eldest son of an educator and diplomat, was a NBC television director before being drafted into the US Army in 1967. He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer and served as an OCS Tactical Officer at Fort Benning, before undergoing Vietnamese language training and jump school. He later commanded a Mobile Advisory Team during the Vietnam War. After recovering from his injuries, Smallwood moved to New York to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse.

He is the author and the Audio Book narrator of "Return to Eden", an anthology of 33 essays describing his adventures as an Army adviser in Vietnam, his life as an actor thereafter and his return to Vietnam in 2004.He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge.
