I'm from England.
I moved to the States three years ago to be with my wife. I'm a legal permanent resident (green card holder), and I must wait another couple of years before I am able to apply for naturalization (become a US citizen).

Instead of waiting, I have another idea.
I'd like to exchange my UK citizenship with any politician who supports the unconstitutional nonsense that is going on at the moment.

I have some news for you! There is a westernized, English speaking country that already exactly meets your needs, why don't you go and live there and leave America alone?

Since you hate America so much, and would rather live in a country where self defense is essentially illegal, people are subjects not citizens, and it is practically impossible for civilians to own firearms, you would love life in the UK.

Of course, you would have to suffer wallet-meltingly high taxes and higher violent crime rates*, but you get to reap all of the benefits of a government that knows what's best for you.

So what do you say?

My UK citizenship for your US citizenship?

*being stabbed? Simply call the police :)

Love it! You are a lot more welcome here than some other brits I know! (i.e. Piers Morgan)

I forgot to add:

Although idyllic, there may be one or two things about this paradise island that you don 't like.
This won't matter to you though, it is easily changed because the UK doesn't have a Constitution!
That's right, no pesky Constitution and a meaningless 'bill of rights' means that you can get any hair-brained piece of legislation passed into law without 'extremists' giving you problems!

Don't like firearms or large sodas?
Tired of proles being able to say whatever they want, even if they don't agree with you?

Simply swap my red passport for your blue one!
(hey, that's ironic...)

...any politician who supports the unconstitutional nonsense...
They would laugh!

They would tell you that they love this country, despite their actions that seem contrary to their words. They would tell you that 'this isn't England' and that 'what didn't work for England will work for America'. They would tell you that America is a mound of clay and they are the potters. It is an ever-changing society that will become a utopia if you'll only give them a chance and get out of the way. They would tell you to sit down, to be quiet, and that they know what's best.

They already view the people as subjects.

Been saying this for years. Why do they want to change this country when nearly all of Europe is what they want? Just move, please? :banghead:

I read on this site that we are not allowed to be "political"...or words to that effect. The context of this admonition was a monologue about the relative guilt of Republicans and Democrats as it pertains to the 2nd amendment. Every aspect of our lives in this country is determined by politics and there are only two major political parties. Take a look at the numbers of anti gun representatives...Senators..Congressmen and you tell me what party they are associated with. It is impossible to be non political and not discuss which party is the major cause of problems. I know for a fact that gun owners here and elsewhere..including NRA members who vote for Democrats and some vote for no Republicans. And then they complain about losing their 2nd amendment rights...right to chose a medical plan..right to work without union membership..on and on. Yea..right..no discussion of politics is about losing your rights..period. :banghead:
