I'm reading this stupid new IDPA rulebook again, and now I've noticed something else. In SSP The Robar grip reduction (presumably for Glocks), is now an illegal modification. How could this procedure possibly provide a competitive advantage? How can this be construed as anything other than an obvious swipe at a WC competitior?

It's always been illegal for SSP.

And USPSA production too for that matter.

I have had 4 Glocks with grip reductions. A stock Glock just points unnaturally high for me. I guess USPSA and IDPA needs to draw a line somewhere, so no grip reductions. No big deal, I just compete with something other than I carry. Seems odd though, buying stuff to fit the IDPA mold, then going back to everyday carry gear that is not even legal.

Yeah but, it's only the Robar grip reduction that's illegal! They are named specifically.

There are plenty of places that do grip reductions that would be perfectly legal...anywhere but Robar, per the rules.

PS: Kidding. I think...uhhhhh....

Picking "lots" of nits...

Agree Gabe, it's "interesting" what is and is not legal- UM (a compeditor), and kydex in general (bunch of compeditors), Robar (a compeditor), etc.

Guess Wilson had a bad year and is looking to recoup money- Off to learn how to shoot USPSC or whatever... :neener:

I guess we can add this to the list of 'things Bill Wilson' doesn't like

Darn it Faustulus beat me to it, I was going to say the same thing.

Add moon clip wheel guns to that list.

Hey John looks like bw left your 10mm out of the mix again. But hey I had to buy a gun to be "legal" in idpa. Had I known the local clubs I shoot at now were cool I would have bought the "illegal" gun I wanted.

I was going to shoot Sunday, but had a domestic problem at the house. Came home from a short bike ride, and found all my reloading gear dumped in my carport by my soon to be exwife. Cops were not to pleased to see 3 pounds of powder, 3000 primers, and live ammo, just out in the carport for anyone to pick up.

I think the new revolver rules are ludicrous.

Sorry to hear that John. Tell her next time she wants to ruin your reloading supplys to dump them in a pile and smash it with a hammer
