I stopped in at one of my local pawn shops the other day to have a look. They have what they call a junk barrel in the gun room and I always look to see if they have something I can use. There were a few thing in the barrel that have been there for a while, but there was a 22 boltaction in the barrel that looked ok.
I pulled it out to have a look. It was a Marlin Glenfield Mod. 25. There was a little rust on the metal, the stock wasn't all that pretty and the magazine was missing.
I looked at the tag and it had $179 marked out and $125 just below it. It also had "Broken Safety" written on the tag. I could see that the safety lever was there, but it moved back and forth very easy and would not stay in place.
Like always I started thinking project rifle. Like I really need another one. I thought to my self, if I could get for cheap, it would be worth it.
I brought the rifle up to the counter and offered them $75. :what: To my suprise the guy said ok. :D
Well here it is.

The safety is pretty simple on these rifles and one look at it and I knew what was wrong. The sear retaining screw also holds the safety lever in place. There are no springs on the safety, it is just pressuer from the screw and the bend in the lever that keeps the safety in place.
All I had to do was remove the sear retaining screw to remove the safety lever and bend it a little. I put it back together and it works great. :D

This makes my 3rd Glenfield Mod. 25. I love these little rifles because they shoot great. This one will most likely end up with a new finish and a dressed up stock
