I Was Shocked !

About a month ago i was at a gun dealer's shop and i was shocked at what i witnessed.
I young Black lady in her early 30's was in the store and told the owner and his salesman that her friend highly recommended the Kahr 9mm for her protection and as a carry piece. The salesman quickly handed her the little polymer with stainless slide pistol and told her to rack-it and play with it.
It was immediately obvious that she didn't have the strenth,or dexterity to operate the stiff pistol.More-the-less if a crises situtation should arise, which is WHY she was buying a pistol in the first place ! The saleman,if worth- his-weight-in-salt,should have immediately given her a micro-carry 9mm Glock. This pistol i KNOW she could've handled with no problem at all ! And for a little less money, and maybe even safer to carry in a ready-to-fire-mode.

Then he started to sell her Federal Hydra Shocks saying that they were the best.
A stranger butted-in and said that Remington's Golden Sabers were better because of the low flash gun powder that they use.I spoke-up and said that i thought that Gold Dots were far more superior becuase they mushroom even after passing through clothing and obsticals.

Anyway, the lady bought the damn Kahr and she couldn't even release the slide after it had been racked and held in place by the slide release button.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I,myself, had to show her how to " slingshot " the slide instead of wasting her time, and strenth,on the little button.

In my opinion, letting this lady buy a gun she obviously couldn't handle is inexcusable and just freakin' sloppy-ass dumb salemanship.
A gun has to be tailor-made to your hand, body strenth, ergonomics, personality, and disposition.

This saleaman is very knowledgable because i have talked to him on a few occassions. But what he did to the Black lady really, really sucked.:fire: :fire: :fire:
And i hope it will never cost her life !

Gander n Dicks

In the past I've posted many stories about our local Gander Mountain's. One of my favorites is the one where a guy behind the counter referred to a beretta storm as a "machine gun" :)

As for DICK's (the name is more appropriate than intended) yeah, you can never find a person behind the counter there, and if you do, you are more likely to be handed a leaflet from the Brady Campaign than to learn something about the nuances of bolt action locking mechanisms.
