Well last week I bought a new in box Mustang Pocketlite, and liked it so mush I went after another one this weekend. The show was in Orlando, which is about 50min from me, but I went anyway as this is the last one for me this year. I found another beautiful Mustang, this time in stainless. These things are great, reliable little jewels. Anyway, here are a few pics, and thanks for looking.

Another excellent acquisition ak-kev. Interesting to note that like my blued Mustang that I posted on your earlier Pocketlite purchase, this new Mustang also does not have the cutout on the right side of the tang. I wonder if it is as someone else suggested, something Colt found necessary to do with the alloy receivers.

I asked that very question to the fella I bought it from. His answer seems to parallel yours. The 2 pocketlite Mustangs he was selling, had the 'notch', but this one didnt. It has to be something to do with the alloy frame.

I like my Mustang but the New Colt agent is close in weight and size. 45 verse 380. I will carry my Agent and enjoy my Mustang now and then.

Thanks guys!!

Doc.....this one wasnt the one with a box and papers, the one I bought last weekend is. This one looks great but didnt have the box and papers.

Michael T.......I too love my Defender and Officers Model, but the Mustang offers me another way to carry....in my pocket.

I've always wanted one of them too. Cute little buggers. They look just like tiny little 1911s.

But, man those things are pricey for what they are. Around here they cost just as much as a full size 1911.

Yes sir, the Pocket Nine. I love this little gun too. Unfortunately they are very rare as Colt didnt produce them for even a year. Mine has been nothing but perfect and I would even like to have another one, but I cant find one:(. BTW....its 17oz and has a 6+1 capacity. Its also rated for +p. Great gun:)

I have both a Mustang Plus II and a Gov't .380, both all stainless. The plastic trigger bothers me a lot. I made one out of 303 stainless, the sides are surface ground and it works very nicely. I'm going to do a CNC run of 416 stainless triggers for these. So far trigger mass hasn't been a problem, nor was it in the original Stars from which these came, and they had steel triggers. If you look at all the Stars you will see the genetic makeup of all the later Colt .380's, with the possible exception of the later DAO Pony's. The safety system is identical, the disconnector and trigger is also. All came out of the Star DK.

Please stop these threads before all available Colt .380 pistols are gone or are priced through the roof!

Or at least till I can get mittens one one!

I thought they were super small but I saw one recently and it was the same size as a PM9 so I bought the Kahr.

I looked at those too, but I figured I could get a Kahr anytime, while the Colts are becoming extremly dificult to find.

Even though I'm thinking about selling my Mustang, I wouldn't mind replacing that plastic trigger. If you make any, I'd be interested in one.

I bought a Mustang Pocketlite new back in the mid 90's. I didn't like cocked and locked in my pocket so I traded it on a Pony Pocketlite which I still have today. I wish I'd have kept the Mustang as well. I can't believe how much $$ they are bringing.

Nice Pony; that's the one I would love to have for CCW. But your right about how much they go for these days; at one gun show earlier this year, I saw two Mustangs, one blue and one stainless, both priced over $600. At some point you have to decide if it's worth having as a daily carry piece, or because of it's cost, it gets relegated to collector status, and ends up being put away in the safe.
