In there hurry to slam that piece of garbage down the thoats of the residents of New York, they forgot one little detail. They violated there constitution by waving a 3 day waiting period between introducing law and enacting it. We are gutting the bill of rights. I'd be (pleasantly) surprised to see a regulatory function be upheld.

The Governor waived the mandatory period; perhaps he has the authority to do this in situations of "extreme urgency" --like milking a massacre before it slips from the headlines? 'Fraid I'm not an expert on NY constitutional clauses, being from Texas

I did enjoy the "soliloquy of frustration" that nearly every lawmaker, yea or nay, gave before casting their vote

They also didn't put in a clause exempting the police from the ammo restrictions and the police are complaining because it puts them at a disadvantage. The police believe the law should not apply to them including retired LEO's. If that's all law abiding citizens need then that should be all the police need right or are they above the law? Personally I feel that Law Enforcement should be very well armed along with all law abiding citizens.

I've never had any sympathy for the police. Putting on a badge shouldn't give you privileges. if you need privileges to put on a badge then don't ever put on one simple as that.

Police having the same restrictions as regular citizens is okay with me. But it will get amended to exempt police in a short time. I hope the make some other changes as well in the process. That whole deal was just wrong. There was not "extreme need".

Many police don't think they are above the law, but in fact are the law. Particularly those in leadership positions. They feel entitled to whatever they need to impose their Grand Utopian Designs on their populace. That's the real problem. Would I be remiss in suggesting that police not be given a nearly-insurmountable advantage over their fellow citizen? (Texas has a history of corrupt up-and-down-the-line local police forces being "booted" by townfolk who've had enough.)
