Another Self Made Holster

Here's a new holster I whipped up, could use a few tweaks if I make another like it, but overall I'm pleased with how it carries.

It is sized for my Glock 19, and I used 3mm tumbled cowhide finished with grease buffed by hand to a semi-gloss finish.

It took me a while to learn how to properly fit a holster, but now that I have a basic understanding of the principles it has become a very rewarding hobby.

What kind of leather are you using? It appears to be chrome-tanned.

It is oil tanned, basically latigo type stuff, it is not corrosive to metal like chrome-tan, but is more resistant to sweat and moisture than raw veg-tan.

Rough out side is good idea. It will help hold the holster in place when drawing the gun. I would prefer a brass snap as it is less noticeable and will become more dull with age.

That's where I was going with my comment. No Chrome Tanned leather Many many holsters ago, mine ended up as dog chew toys. Nice job on the holster!

Great idea on the rough out for IWB holsters, I'll give that a try sometime.
