I was thinking maybe a plastic ammo box or other plastic container with dividers for each caliber or for rifle and pistol mags. Right now all my rifle mags are stacked on a closet shelf and all my pistol mags are loose on another smaller shelf. I would love to have an way to organize and store them all neatly so I can find the mag I need a little easier. This is would also make it easier to take the mags I need to the range.

I put my pistol mags for each gun in a ziploc bag, label it and then put them all in a cardboard box on a shelf in the gun safe.

I use plastic parts bins; you can find them at Lowe"s and Home Depot. Dillon also sells them labeled as bullet bins or cartridge bins. I can fit about a dozen pistol mags in one bin. I place them on the shelf in front of the matching ammo to keep things organized by caliber.

+1 but the ones for the guns I shoot all the time are loaded and in the range bag ready to go. Much more fun to load them in A/C comfort than stand in the heat at the range stuffing them. This way I can maximize my time shooting at the range.

I've been thinking about a few strong magnetic strips for pistol mags...like a knife strip for the kitchen.

that sounds good, maybe run em 3-4 wide to hold loaded mags on the inside of the safe door...

For pistol mag storage, I used a plano organizer translucent box. The type used for tackle box or sold at Lowe's for storage. I buy the kind where you put in the vertical spacers.
