Hello I am about to look at a liberty Franklin, they owner says is 72"x46"x36" and "about a thousand pounds," it has internal hinges a three spoke handle and a dial lock. dark shiny green with gold accents. 45 min fire rating. pictures say H-45 as a model number, that may be the fireproofing model?

looking for general opinions of this safe and specifications if anyone has them, I cant seem to find specs for safes in this era

I imagine the specs have changed since 2003 on the Franklin series, any info on door and body thickness of the 2003 era? the current Franklin are 11 gauge body and 1" composite door. no info on how much of that 1" is steel.

he has it priced for about what I can buy a similar sized cheap new import RSC for, this one is much better looking at least, the 2003 liberty was a US made safe correct?

I am pretty sure that year model was a 12 gauge outer body.
The door is a composite type door with a 12 gauge door face and 12 gauge inner door panel.
And I am saying this looking at a 2006 Liberty gun safe catalogue.
Around 2008 is when Liberty changed up that model as they deleted the Washington series and then upgraded the Lincoln and Franklin series.
Not sure of the asking price but it's a pretty decent home gun safe and it sounds like it has the more premium gloss paint work that costs a lot more today.
I am not sure the size dimensions are totally correct.
Bring a tape measure to verify but the weight is pretty close.

Thank you for the info, that is a thinner door than i was expecting. But it will keep my kids out, and our local petty thugs as well,

He is asking 1k

Yes it is a thin door and one of my biggest complaints with Liberty,Champion,Cannon, etc.
Incidentally some of the changes Liberty made to their 2008 models was to put a better locking mechanism in the safe and weld in some anti pry tabs.
My belief is yearly they received back pre anti pry tabs safes under warranty that had been pryed open and saw the need to upgrade the doors.
A plate steel door is mo better but at the price you will be getting this used model it will still be a bargain.
