I have gone through many phases like "the Wonder Nine of the Week", "How many decent Custom 98 Mausers do you need for Deer Hunting", "the how powerful Revolver do I not need", the relitively recent...."that used AR is how cheap?"

I recall justifying my four M1 Garands phase. Not a collection. Not rare variants. Just nice shootable rifles for range shooting. My justification? I wanted them.

Hey Outlaw kid, we need more youngsters like you to get involved in this hobby or obsession. I have a few modern hand guns but always come back to the black powder stuff. I just get a little worried that it's gonna fade into the sunset if more youngsters don't step up and start doin this. Rock on brudder.

Yeah it would be nice if others my age or if even more people in general were into our hobby. But at the same time i do enjoy the tight knit community we currently have. Its like living in a small town. I have tried getting other younger people into our hobby but most dont like the smoke and cleaning that comes with the territory. They want plastic "tacti-cool" guns with large clips and rapid fire..the stuff seen on action films and video games. Most arent into nostalgia...and usually the ones that do get into it want to shoot really modern inlines with plastic sabots and new age sub powders like buckhorn 209. I only got one other person into our hobby and its only because they wanted to hunt durring muzzleloader season. Oh well...atleast i know my guns will still be able to be shot even if brass, primers, and powders become non existent. I dont need brass casings or special loading equipment, i can make my own powder and primers, and my guns dont need any special licenses or tracking of serial numbers to possess etc, and i can make my guns indestructible and can make all the necessary parts. Most of the current new gun crowd cant honestly say the same.
