I have had one for over 3 years now. It all started when a friend was starting to get into handguns and asked me what I thought of them. I didn't know anything about them and began to research. Hickock45 has a couple of great videos on the SR9c. I ended up riding along to the gun shop when he went to possibly buy so I could check one out in person. I had been considering an M&P9c but the Ruger fit my hand better and had a smoother, lighter trigger. At $389.99 it was also about $80 cheaper. My friend and I both walked out of the LGS with one that day. Since then we have each run around 3000 rounds through our guns without any malfunctions. It is dead on accurate too. Mine gets carried sometimes and spends every night on the nightstand with the 17 round magazine in place.

I bought mine about 4 years ago on new years day. spent $400 plus tax. better than anywhere else I've seen since. I also have about 3000 rounds through mine. the first 25 rounds was really iffy with quite a few light strikes but I was also using questionable ammo. went back into the house, watched a youtube video to figure out how to remove the mag safety, and after that ran 500 trouble free rounds through it without issue before cleaning it for the first time. it was my carry gun for a long time until my cross breed holster wore out and I found a better style holster for my XDM45 compact instead. I still love the SR9c and will probably never sell it. in fact I loved it so much that when the 9E went on sale for $299 at my local sportsmans warehouse, I broke my "no big box store" rule and bought it, both for the extra interchangeable mag, and for the added sight radius. I may someday part with the 9e, but will probably refrain from selling the SR9c.

I bought one from an auction about three months ago, the trigger is smooth, it fires everything I load and is easy to hit with. I have extended magazines however I shoot it better with the flush magazine. It's easy to take down and reassemble too.

I bought my SR9c in early August. Cleaned it and went to the range and it was a jam-o-matic. Sent it to Ruger (their CS really is the best) and had it back in 12 days with a new slide assembly. Since then, it has 720 rounds without a single failure, and it is now my EDC. I can honestly say I love the gun. So much, in fact, that I traded my SIG P938 for an LC9s which is my t-shirt carry gun.

Was at the range one day when I noticed the guy next to me was having trouble keeping any sort of group together with his new SR9c. He then asked me if I would give the gun a try to see if it was him or the pistol. I proceeded to put 5 rounds all in the black at about 30 feet. Made a believer out of me and after trying out several other compact 9mm.s I decided to go with the SR9c. It had the best trigger, sights, and overall ergonomics for me.

I bought my wife one for Valentine's Day 3 years ago and after playing with it a while when I got it home, kicked myself in the rear for not getting the full size for me. Picked her up 4 more 17 rounders with the sleeve thingy and she loves it. No problems with it but it only has around 1000 rounds through it so far.

Since I don't carry and I just bought a Ruger 9e, I'm actually looking at selling my SR9-C, as its redundant now. Got the 9e for $315 out the door.

I have an SR40-C that I'm going to hang on to.

I would pick that over G26 or new single stack 9mm Glock. The gun has very good ergonomics and costs significantly less. I don't see reason to pay extra for something that is going to be carried a lot more than shot. Just like buying Taurus revolver instead of S&W. Why throw money away? As long as it goes bang every time the trigger is pulled that is all that matters.

Very happy with mine. Reliable, accurate, very good trigger, and I like the ergonomics.Several thousand rounds, no issues.Have a Crossbreed holster and it carries well.

I've had mine over 5 years now. It's very reliable and accurate. You won't carry it in your pocket but it's a nice pistol. I shoot mine better than my Shield every time. I paid $400 and some change and I've never regretted it.

Have had one for a year or so... (after first picking up a used SR9 for a great price.) Great little gun, and far better than the Kel-Tec PF9 I traded for it (with a little cash to boot on my side.) Much better trigger than the PF9 (which I upgraded with a Ghost trigger before I got the SR9c.)

My wife wanted to upgrade to 9mm from her Bersa .380. I have close to 50 pistols for her to try out, but after visiting a LGS, she picked up the Ruger SR9c and fell in love. Embarrassingly enough, I didn't know anything about Ruger's then new SR9 series pistols. I picked her one up for Valentines Day as well (nothing says love like a new pistol!). She absolutely loves it! I did have to get a stiffer spring striker as she would get light strikes at times, but since then, she's run close 1000 rounds through it without a hitch and even took her first real "self-defensive" course with it. I actually really like the feel of the pistol and despite being slightly larger than my Glock 26, it's really a sleek design and conceals well. The added bonus of the extended 17 round magazines makes it a great HD gun. I had heard issues about some of the Rugers having crappy triggers, but my wife's SR9c has a very crisp, light trigger, much better than any of my stock Glock triggers. For the price, it's a great gun and their magazines are well made.

One of my biggest regrets was selling mine. I'm not saying they are the same in fit quality or anything else but targets don't lie. I can handily out shoot some very expensive hand guns with the SR9c. I went with a slightly larger M11-A1 from Sig Saur and I really like it, but I have not been able to come anywhere close to the tennis ball size holes I use to make with the SR9c. I will own another.

I would pick it over any G##:p
Other factors could be how good their customer service reputation is, whether or not it would hold up if you practiced a lot and/or whether or not it would likely appreciate in value over time. American made is a + for me.
