I really like my P95DC. Wish they'd bring the DCs back.

I really like what i see of the P345. Then the buzzkill sets in...peening of the magazine plunger and maybe the barrel.

Anybody but put a bunch of rounds through the P345 and are happy with it? I'd be buying a new one so maybe the problems have been fixed?

If I had my 'druthers, I'd go with a P97DC but that'll be used 'cause they don't make them anymore.

I was hoping maybe the P345 would turn out to be a good one. They seem to have gotten a lot right...just not sure how bad it really is...or if it is bad at all.

By comparison, I have an M&P 45 full size. Been back to S&W twice and I think they fixed my trigger problems...but now the slide always slams forward when I put in a loaded mag. I know it is not supposed to do that but do I fight that battle or just accept it as a feature? Every gun seems to have quirks.

Seeking some truth on the Internet regarding the P345. Thanks.

i had one, and it was the least expensive but most accurate handgun i ever had. i had lots of rounds thorough it, and it did not run relaibly, i sent it to ruger, they were awesome and they fixed it. i no longer have it.

I had one that would FTF evry five or six DA trigger pulls. The trip back to Ruger didn't improve it at all so I sold it off.

shot one. Nice gun for sure. First two replies not withstanding, they have a great reputation for reliability (as do all Rugers for that matter).

See "Tell me about your P345" thread posted by Katana8869. Lotsa love for the P345.

By the way, I was at a gun show last weekend, and there were no P345s there. I only talked to one dealer about it, and he said he just couldn't keep them in stock.

I had bought one for carry, but turned out to be too big. The thing was a laser! Most accurate 45 I've shot to date, including Kimbers, Springfields, S&Ws. It liked to run wet, if the slide drys up, they will have feed issues. Never had any peening of parts, fits small hands great, my only complaint was IWB carry, being a little big for me.:)

I have a 345 for a few years now and like it alot. Its my woods carry/truck gun.I did just buy an M&P 9mm though.Because I wanted a 9mm since ammo is cheaper. The 9mm is my house gun.The 345 works fine and is accurate too.I did try a P95 9mm and had too many problems with it.

I liked the one I shot. I'm a big fan of traditional da/sa triggers. One of the best .45s I ever owned, for the money, was a Ruger p90. Get a late/recent serial numbered p345; Ruger has had several years now to iron out any kinks.

My brother loves his!

I sold my SP-101 DAO in favor of the sweet LCR.

His P345 isn't going anywhere.

I really like the ones without rails. I suspect they all have a rail these days but that is by no means a deal breaker. Everything looks better without a rail.

Like everything about mine so far but I only have about 150 rounds thru it. No FTF or FTE, has spit out everything I put in it. I have recommended it to others if: 1) you don't mind the long DA first shot, mag disconnect safety and the reality that most will ask why you did not buy a Glock.

What would you suggest for a cut-off on serial numbers -- as in, buy one with a higher number than "XXXX"?

I have always been a fan of Ruger Number One Rifles and Vaquero's so that when the P345 came out I purchased one simply beacause I liked the size and look of it. The P345, as others pointed out, was extremly accurate out of the box and I did not have one FTF after firing over 500 rounds of mixed ammo. It had only one bad feature, that damned magazine safety...a problem easily taken care of quickly. I like the P345 so much, it has now become my number one go to house gun.

Personally I don't much care for the magazine safety. I wish they had made the 345 with P97 innards:p
