Just wondering if any of you ever talk in any gun-related chat rooms.

I've been hanging out in #guns on EFnet for quite a while and we've got a really good group of guys in there with quite a bit of knowledge. Figured maybe some of you that are always looking for more gun-related resources might be interested in checking it out.

If anyone needs help getting on IRC or wants to learn, feel free to PM me and I'll help you out. For those of you already on EFnet, drop in and say hi!

Been on the internet since before there was an internet. When IRC first started it was an OK place to visit and just shoot the breeze.

But then the whackos took over and I do mean whackos, nut jobs, funny farm escapees what ever you want to call 'em.

It got more and more difficult to find any channel with regular folks.

I'm sure there's some decent channels out there but it's not worth the effort going to them. Add in the fact that IRC is a big security hole into which folks spill all kinds of dangerous sewage and it's even worth less effort.

THR is good enough and with 10,000+ users it generally doesn't take long to find or get a response to any type of information or message one could think of.

IRC - not for me - not anymore!

Werewolf,
I get around that by picking my channels carefully, and never running an IRC client locally. Always ssh'd to a friend's OpenBSD box.

Fella's;

I'm NOT a computer guy, so please forgive da ignornce. Whats an "IRC"? Thanks.

I have set up a java based IRC web client that autojoins #guns on EFNet for you not so computer savvy people. Does not require installing any software. Click and go. Just wait for the applet to load. To change your nick form Guest to something else type /nick yournewnick once you are connected.

Enjoy.
