I'm wondering if Wolf is working on their quality control or did I just luck into some decent ammo? Today I took my AR and my .22 to the range so I could coach somebody who is having a hard time qualifying with the M16 (the Coast Guard puts almost no effort into qualifying recruits in basic). After he had shot the .22 a bit we worked on his M16 pqs and then put a few rounds through my AR to get him used to the noise.

I started taking shots at an old target somebody had left out at 100 yards. I got a decent group on paper, no measurements because I checked it out with my .22s scope instead of trudging through the knee deep snow. Then I started shooting at the steel buffalo target at about 110 yards and was able to hit the head with every shot. When I took the gun apart to clean it this evening it was a lot cleaner than it normally is after 100 rounds of Wolf. Have Wolf engineers been reading the online complaints about accuracy and fouling or could the cold have had something to do with this? It was about 17 degrees at the range.

I guess I could have included that info in the original post. A mix of 55 grain HP and FMJ steel cased polymer coated. It was new stock last month at Dunhams.

I started thinking about this because they have a new 124 gr HP in 7.62 x 39 that is supposed to be a better, more lethal bullet than the old 122 gr HP.
