Enough initials for you yet?

I purchased a DPMS Sweet 16 rifle and a Wal-Mart Centerpoint scope. I took the rifle to the range to sight everything in yesterday. I am not a professional shooter and would like to shoot some coyotes someday.

I sighted and zeroed in with the PMC Bronze 223 FMJBT and was happy at 100 yards with 1.5" groups.

I then put in some Wolf Military Classic FMJ and shot. I still had similar groups but the bullets hit the target 12" high and 6" to the right.

I went back to the PMC and was right on target.

Is this something I should expect from one ammo to another?

Yes.

No two brands or bullet weights will shoot to the same POI.

At least not very often anyway.

You need to pick one load, sight it in, and stay with it.

Also, in general, no FMJ-BT will be as accurate as SP, HP, or plastic-tip bullets with the jacket opening in the nose. It costs more, but if you want maximum accuracy, it is worth it.
