Any other steel pistols as nice as a Sig 226?

Almost by accident I am the proud owner of an all stainless .40 Sig 226. I cannot imagine a gun that is better designed, better made or better suited to my applications (target shooting and range sidearm).

Are there any other full size all steel autoloaders as nice as the all steel Sig 226? (the Kimber 1911's come to mind but I do not know anything about them).

(When I said "almost by accident" I meant that I saw it for sale when I was not in the market for a handgun, and because of its quality and price I had it put away for six months while pushing the paperwork to get New Jersey to give me permission to buy another handgun.)

CZ 75B
Browning HI Power
1911 in 9mm or 45 ACP

Congrats on the Sig but there are tons of guns out there that are just as good if not better than the P226 platform. Often what makes one gun superior to another is the Indian not the arrow or the bow.

I have a Beretta 92S (NOT the "FS"). It is all steel, has gorgeous bluing, and everything is incredibly smooth. Trigger is great, and it is ridiculously light recoiling and easy to shoot. Makes me proud.

I think it weighs about 43 ounces unloaded, which is the main reason I bought it.

My HK USP was much lighter and I did not like the recoil.

Slow fire, the Brick lets me make one jagged hole at seven yards and a four inch group at 21 yards.

That is a heavy pistol, I thought my CZ SP-01 was heavy, but thats heavier.

Never did care for Sigs myself.

I prefer the slim sexy lines of the CZ.

CZ-

Another great all metal gun= CZ , Look at the 75b for low $500.00. My favorite is the 85 combat, and it still is about $200 cheaper than the Sig!

Sure, the Sig X-5. :)

I bought the X-5 Tac with the alloy frame to lighten things up. SAO and night sites. What a gun.

I like my 75B Military and my 9mm MkIII BHP too.

In my personal opinion, Sig makes some of the best quality handguns out there. My friend has a stainless P226 9mm, and it is by far my favorite pistol to shoot.

My experience with handguns is limited however, so there may exist some better firearms out there

That is a sharp looking firearm. I like the grips as well

Congrats, you have the best all steel pistol available. Sigs are #1

I had a Sig once, didn't care for the trigger, slide stop design, or sights, but a great shooter! I prefer CZs, and 1911s over the Sigs, but to each his own:D

I do love Sigs, although I'm down to only one at this time. Standard alloy frame P226. It's a combat pistol, but the most accurate center fire pistol I own. At least for me. I can imagine that all steel gun would be very soft shooting.

The Steel I was made from 2004-2006 or something... the 92S was waaaaay before that. Just curious.

I know what you meant, what I saying was, TargetTerror probably though 92S = 92 Steel I.

But in fact, 92S = alum alloy frame, stainless steel slide, one of early 92 that.

Beretta has one too many models and some of them were really poorly thought out. Whoever name 90-two, should get tasered everyday.
