I was wondering if there were any pics of the British Bulldog style revolvers. I'm interested them but cant find but a few pics of them.

If you've got some pics of them or any large bore snub nose revolver how about posting them so we can take a look see at them.

Thanks

On the back page of the most recent "American Rifleman", under the heading, "I have this old gun...", is a photo and brief history of the British Bulldog revolvers.

George Layman wrote an entertaining book; THE BRITISH BULLDOG REVOLVER, the forgotten gun that won the west. There are examples of Bulldogs as well as examples the historic use of Bulldogs in the U.S.

The majority of the Bulldogs we see at gunshows today were made in Belgium, Spain, Germany and England. Here in the U.S. Harrington & Richardson, Iver Johnson, Forhand & Wadsworth, and Hopkins & Allen all manufactured revolvers with the name Bull Dog on them.

Here are some examples

Forhand & Wadsworht Bulldogs, note the "Indian Bull-Dog" as well as the "British Bull Dogs"

Above is an H&R "Young America Bull Dog" chambered for .32 rim fire short.

Thanks Broad Arrow and welcome to the forums. It's interesting to see that they were a part of Americas west. Nice pictures and collection.
