I have Black Widow in my pocket most days and it has picked up a few scratches, especially noticeable on the gloss surfaces.

It will pick up more scratches, so I'm not overly concerned. But I've considered giving it the scotch-brite treatement to obscure scratches on the gloss flats. But I expect it may be hard to exactly match that refinish to the matte recesses on the barrel. That may not matter since they don't match to begin with ...

Any pics of a refinished NAA Black Widow?

Poor pic, sorry, but you can see the scaring from 25 years of folding the grip on my old .22LR NAA. I have the new folder on the Black Widow which does not touch the frame when folding and helps protect it, plus I place it muzzle down folded in the Blackhawk Number 4 holster that holds my .38 snub.

I don't worry about the scratches, just character marks. :D So far, though, my Black Widow is pretty much scarless. The new folder was an improvement IMHO and it also locks more positively open.

If you're going to continue to carry it in your pocket then it'll continue to get scratched and scuffed. Stainless isn't all that hard so it scratches easily from coins and keys or even pocket grit that rubs the gun when you're carrying it around. The only way you're going to avoid the issue is to put it into a holster of some sort which isn't in your pocket where the parts of the gun outside the holster are exposed to coins, keys and grit. And even then grit WILL get into the holster if it is in your pocket.

So you're on the right track with the Scotchbrite. At least you can match and restore it easily. Just do the whole thing that way.

I'm looking forward to continued use and continued scratches. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

The scratches have just made me feel free to tinker, try to reduce the contrast between surface and scratch ...
