There is another thread about how useful a .22lr NAA revolver is but my thoughts went in another direction.

Not as a defense gun but as possible a .22 Mag companion to a centerfire gun when backpacking or in the field.

I know that our centerfire guns can do small game like bunnies and such quite will but ammo is heavy. The weight of 50 rounds of rimfire and the gun will be less weight then 50 rounds of centerfire and this can be used to save the centerfire ammo for bigger concerns.

I know we could go with a light weight .22 gun of larger proportions but buld also counts.

Do you think an NAA Black Widow or Mini Master is up to the task of emergency small game hunting or small game hunting period?

I do see that there are some people that can hit with one.

The North American Arms are well build guns and fun to shoot, but I wouldn't bet my life on hunting small game with one.

Like any other firearm, the NAA Mini is fully capable of taking small game. However, it would be an exercise in skulking, too. You could take small game but you would have to work yourself into a position fairly close and concealed to be able to get an effective shot.

Eating your game after harvesting it would be a reward for the effort it would take to work yourself into a position to take a shot. It would be like hunting with a bow. Many people find it exhilarating to be pitted against nature itself, and winning.

Try hitting small targets with the little handguns and see if you are up to the task. That's all that really matters.
