Any reason not to buy a GSG?

The only reason I'm not looking more heavily into a GSG5 is because I already have an AR, and would rather make it into a .22--besides, my AR has a better trigger to boot :neener:

If I DIDN'T have an AR......I would buy a GSG5, no question. They seem to be a hoot.

GSG-5 fever

I didn't want to like the GSG but I talked to three people at my local range that had them. Everyone of them loved the gun. Its seldom I hear so much good about something like that.

I found a local dealer than had them for $479 and made the mistake of going in to hold one......

Its a toy. Its not built like a tank. It won't last forever. It cost too much.

I bought it. I really do enjoy it. I have two 10/22's that I like but its just different. I shoot it a lot and enjoy every shot. Mine is the second model, they made some improvements, and it works like a charm. I got a slick tactical sling for it from justslings for $14 and two extra magazine. It just burns up the range. I call it my "tactical tin can" shooter. Its good at that.

There are a lot of these being imported. Hard to get right now but that will change. Parts will be around in time. They are selling a lot of these and it will be good business to have parts to sell too.

A Walthers P22 pistol, the king of toy guns, is up to nearly $400 now. For a few bucks more than that I got this slick rifle that does what it was made to do.....put smiles on our face.

Some will say its cheap, overpriced, etc, etc, and they are all correct in that statement. That being said, look at all the people who talk about how much they love it.

I looked at a .22 upper for my AR, they cost about $600..and that was just an upper! If you wanted a target barrel they went up to $700 and I saw some that were $1200..for an upper! Insane!

$479 nowdays isn't so steep.

in all seriousness, $500 is about what a 10/22 with all the desired aftermarket options can normally run you. ive gone over $700 on one of my 10/22s and i still take it out to the range less than my GSG. i bought a slick little case from blackhawk and strap it to the back of my ATV for on-the-go varmint drive-bys. call it a toy, its fun

If you have an AR15, I'd just go for a Spike's .22 upper and be done with it. Mine cost about $600 delivered and included some extras like the aluminum rail handguard, fake suppressor (which I unscrewed and replaced with a .22 SRT Arms Cheyenne XL suppressor), and the additional fulll-auto parts (anti-bounce detent and sear trip). I got a few dozen Blackdog mags for about $23 each (in quantity).

It runs well, has the weight and feel of a regular AR15/M16 (good for when shooting 5.56 is a bit too pricey), and is accurate and tons of fun.

I've been wanting a GSG-5 for about 2 months.

I traded a H & K P-30 for a tricked out gsg-5 this week. About $400 worth if extras.

Took it to the range last night. WOW!!! fun - fun - fun! All the guys in the gun shop came in there to have a taste - they don't sell them there.

Shot about 250 then went home.

Can't wait til Saturday to get outside!

If you can find one get it - you'll not regret it. If you have buyers remorse - you'll get your money back easy.

Yeah Ive been able to find one locally but its the pistol (MP5k) version. Definitely cool. Just waiting on the money. Hopefully no one buys it before then....yeah right :(

i agree, if you advertised it on here you would most likely have it sold within the hour for as much as you put into it.
