Are the SIG AR 15's a better than average rifle? I like their handguns and seem to be quality. Do not know much about their AR's. I always liked the 556 I guess due to the design and folding stock . Just had a "cool" factor, Do not know how they shot. But i guess with AR's the 556 is not that popular?

The have the 400 and 516?? I see now also a updated 556xi

So confused:confused::)

Given Sig's quality control problems* with the 556 and their 'warranty for first owner only' stance, there are much better options.

*No experience with the ARs made by Sig, but my 556 has mis-sized gas regulator and my 556R had to go back and wasn't fixable.

I have a

Colt and 2 Sig AR's. Both seem to be alright. They load and fire nicely. Neither of them is a tack driver but you can keep it pretty close at 100 yards if you are steady. I'd recommend either of them to anyone interested. You can buy a cheaper brand but you get what you pay for.

I had issues with two Sig rifles. You can use the search function here and read all of the hassle I went through to get them to do right by me.
In the end one of them was assembled incorrectly and in my opinion was dangerous, the other just had issues from poor materials being used.
I wouldn't waste my time or money with Sig rifles again.
But YMMV.

I really want to like Sig, but there are just better options for the price. Simple as that. When I can piece together a fancy 1/2MOA rifle for less than a basic Sig AR, there's a problem.:uhoh:
