Tamara nice knives. Is that a Gerber Parabelum and a utility in the bottom right corner? I got both of them early on in my addiction. Always wanted an Applelgate/Fairburn folder. Can we see a picture of the updated collection???

Litlman,

Yup, those are two old "bolt-action" Gerbers from before the one-hand-opener revolution.

Here are the newer ones that didn't make the first pic:

It's a few knives out of date...
\
Tamara, I can't help but like your attitude. "Oh yeah, I cleaned out my pockets and found another 22 knives." :) You still need a Marbles 52-100 fixed blade for daily "non-defensive" work, though.

Regarding...

...more traditional knives (Marbles fixed blades, Case folders, et al), a recent vignette will illustrate my personal tastes:

I had the privilege of browsing the aisles of a local knife show with Kim Breed (of Blade magazine fame). Amazing how much our tastes overlapped...

"What's over there?"
"Just pocketknives. What's in that case?"
"More pocketknives."
"Pocketknives... pocketknives... pocketkni... Ooh! Look! Tasty damascus customs!"

I feel like I'm in good company... ;)

David Park--

Thanks for the link to the Chris Reeve coil knot.

Tamara-- 1) in the latest pic, what is the 2nd from top, left side?
and 2) Of all of the FOLDERS, if you were attacked and had to defend yourself, which would you choose? (ONLY 1 -- I'm a sadist :D )

Tamara,
Below the diver's knife in the first photo there is a white handle knife with an upcurved damascus blade. I remember it from another photo posed with a pepperbox. What is it.

Yum! Adequate start!

You _did_ say you had more?
I used to make my own... still have a pile.
Mostly used Bob Engnath blade blanks that I picked up at Blade shows. My favorite is one of his non-catalog items that he ground out of scrap stock to try out new designs = a Persian style fighter.
My favorite out of your pile is the cordwrap Kwaiken/Tanto specemin in the middle = really like the blade shape. Kinda reminds me of Phill Hartsfield's hand ground wonders.
Both Hartdsfield and Engnath are gone now - Pity:(
Their works are priced way high...............:banghead:

Crimper-D,

That's a Shobu from Steve Corkum. :)

Schuey2002,

Tamara, in the "moreknives1" pic, what kind of knife is in the lower left hand corner.:)

That's one of those Smith & Wesson Powerglides. Its value as a knife is questionable, but it has a real serious Gizmo Factor.

Schuey,

That's a Walter Brend/White Wolf auto.

The scales are really black, they just look gray in that pic because of how the light is hitting them. Here's another pic:

Thanks for the picture,Tamara.

What I should have asked you is, " How rare/ and or spendy is it?" :what:
Wait, don't tell me, it's going to be pricey, isn't it?! :)

OBTW, is this "Brend" the same as the "Walter Brend" that you have? [I realize that it is a different knife but, is this the same guy who makes/grinds the blades??];)

These are all I have left now, except for the dedicated car knives, sold or traded off most of the others.
I only have "users" now, trying not to buy any more:rolleyes:
My wife is away at a dog show, so I can assemble the group without getting asked for a cost estimate etc:eek: ;)
She doesn't mind me having them, she just wants to spend an equal amount on her toys!
