After reading about a users problems with TFL, it reminded me about a problem I've had a GlockTalk.

I was able to register to the site over a month or so ago, but still to this day cannot post anything (says I still need approval). I've sent email to the moderator listed, but have never seen anything.

Thanks for any help, and hope I'm not stepping over certain boundaries. My favorite forums are THR, TFL, 1911Forums, and Glocktalk, and think it's great to be able to access them all for specific information.

I'm gonna top this one as I am having the same issue now - two years later. Anyone know any of the Mods at GT that can help me get my registration in line so I can become an active member?

The same thing happened to me. I reregistered and got the confirmation email the next day.

Yeah, but did you try to post? I've registered several times (to get a new username). I get the initial confirmation email, but I'm never able to use the username on GT.

I'm glad for this thread. I thought the administrator over there was singling me out for whatever reason.

I've been a Senior Member over there for quite a while. I stopped going when it became SO commercial. Ads are up as postings to threads. They can keep it.

****, I got banned without even an e-mail telling me what I did wrong, or a warning beforehand, out of the blue.

I have never been a member of Glock Talk. I have tried many times to register. Each time I try to register, A message appears that says that my IP Address has been banned. How can that be? I have never been able to post or reply on Glock Talk never did any thing wrong. I have sent several emails to Eric and Eddie C but I have never received a reply or a response from either of them. Does anybody have a clue as to why this is happening?
What is going on with Glock Talk? Any suggestions?

I had a different, but equally frustrating experience with Glocktalk. It kept saying I couldn't register but didn't really give a reason. Ultimately it allowed me to do so, but I never go on the site anyways, lol

D-Man, what I recall is that Glock Talk doesn't accept certain email accounts. So open a gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc. and see which one it'll accept. I've used an sbcglobal.net email and it works.

Did your post disappear?

If so, here's why:

THR does not, and will not tolerate attempts to incite interforum "wars," complaint-fests, or attempts to air dirty laundry about other internet forums.

If you have an obviously technical question, we're more than happy to let such a thread run, and well and truly hope that you're able to resolve any such issues you may have with registering.

If all you want to do is bellyache about how such-and-such forum was unfair to you, or whatever, just stow it. We're not interested in hearing it, and no one here can take any action on your behalf, anyway. As far as I know, there is no crossover at all between the staff here and the staff at Glock Talk.

I understand that part about the THR rules, etc. This thread should be kept technical. However, I want to make a distinction. I am interested in hearing and sharing the truth about GT (which may happen to come down to bad mouthing). I'm sure many other THR members are interested too. Again, however, I understand we can't because of the THR rules.

Wow - just happened to come across this, and barely even remember it, let alone recalling how it got fixed.

Hopefully others looking to post there will be able to get it working at some point. And yes, lets keep this 'on the high road'.

Hello

I had the same problem. I was an avid Gt'er, but I moved and bought a new PC and changed emails. Since then I couldn't log on or post. I spent many hours emailing the mods and trying to access my profile, no go.

After 9 years of owning glocks I tried to add my first response to help a post. Same thing. Oh well I will just shut up and look now and then. Strange place GT is.

Same situation here.
Said my IP address was banned, although I have never had any contact whatsoever with GlockTalk. Then after using another IP address I was able to register, but still months later can not post as apparently the application has never been "approved". Laughable.

Justin: I was only trying to get technical assistance from THR members who may also be GT members. I had no intention of this becoming a thread for Glocktalk-bashing.

However, IMHO, complaints are relevant and should be voiced as long as the criticism is meant to be constructive and suggestions to fix issues are offered. That, to me, is the high road way.

I would love to be able to post on GT. If anyone has any information or knows a Moderator that I can contact please PM me.

Unfortunately others choose to take the low road in this thread. This thread needs some self moderation quick to stay alive.

Anyway there is probably not much more to be gained. Myself and many others have had the same problem and there seems to be no clear course of action to get it resolved.
