Looking for some firsthand reviews. I am in the market for a new sub compact and I like DA/SA. Especially curious as to how easy it is for conceal carry.

I don't have a lot of experience but I have some trigger time with the 40S&W compact. It was a really fun gun to shoot, recoil was about in line with a number of 9mms. I have long debated on getting one in 9mm to see how dreamy it is but I keep getting held back for a number of reasons, all of which are personal bias.
1. I prefer subcompacts if I'm going to be carrying. mid sizes just do not appeal to me, I hate compromise.
2. the midsize feels way better in my hand than the subcompact which creates a catch 22 when trying to decide which one I want.
3. I'm not a fan of DA/SA models. it's not a deal breaker for me, I just prefer to have the trigger pull, remain uniform.
4. Beretta puts their safety switches in a crappy spot. it's always in the worst possible location to try and actuate and it's always actuated by a weird, nonintuitive motion.

other than those biases, the PX4 is awesome, great ergos, good triggers, low felt recoil, and decent sights. not a bad way to go for $450.

I hear you on the safety. The first thing I do is order the components to make any one of mine a G model which turns it into a decocker only.

I was just on the beretta site, the only kit i saw was low profile "g" kit at $45 is that the one everyone uses?

A Px4 subcompact in 9mm is what I carry everyday. I like DA/SA hammer fired guns. 13+1 rounds in a package this small is great. It's a little heavy and a little thick but I carry IWB all day no problems.

I have one and it is a car gun. I tried to carry mine IWB, but the damn edges are too sharp. The backstrap forms part of the magwell, and the side edges on the backstrap stick you in the side quite often. And, the edges are sharp. I have a friend who has a fullsiz emodel, and he complained about the gun sticking him when he tried to carry it IWB. I thought it was just because he was a large guy. But one I started trying to carry the compact IWB, I saw exactly what he meant....

So, I sanded down the side edges on the backstrap (one 1 side of the gun), and that helped a bit. Before that, it felt like a needle periodically sticking me.

I also got an extra magazine baseplate from someone at the Beretta Forum, and I sanded down the edges on that. Doing both those things, along with changing to the smaller, single sided slide stop finally solved the sharpness issues. (I did buy an extra backstrap to replace the one I sanded if I ever sell it).

But, I honestly carry my HK P2000 9mm almost all of the time. They took the time to put rounded edges on the bottom edges of the gun and mag plates. The Beretta DA trigger is better than the HK trigger, and I originally bought the PX4 compact to alternate between the two guns.
