Hi , I am searching for some good deals on match grade ammo. I have Rock River AR-15, DPMS 5.56 Sportical and DPMS LR-308.

I have bought a bunch of plinking grade FMJ ammo, but I would like some better quality ammo for my guns as well. Anyone know a place that has super good deals and the ammo in stock right now? I know I have heard Black Hills, Hornady, Winchester make good match grade ammo. If anyone can steer me to a good place. I have checked out several, but all prices seem high.

Also, I be interested if anyone knows a place selling any good quality .308 military surplus ammo for under .50/bullet. Does anyone know good 5.56 surplus or cheap ammo (that is brassed cased) that can be purchased for under 0.25/bullet? I just bought case of wolf, but I know its not the best to use.

There are no deals to be had on any 7.62 Nato at the moment. I actually sold a can of nasty Indian .308 for $350 that I paid $75 for and the guy knew the stuff could kaboom his rifle (nasty stuff I actually found sand in a round instead of powder). I have about 1000 or so rounds of various good surplus 7.62 Nato but I am thinking about buying some silver bear just for plinking as it is the cheap but better than wolf. The cheapest good stuff out there now is probably the Winchester Q1330 at about $150/200 shipped from ammoman.com.

You can make ammo that is the equivalent (or better) than factory match ammo, for less than half what it costs. Get into reloading, it's the only way you can afford to shoot enough to become really proficient.

Silver Bear?

I thought all that Brown, Silver, and Golden Bear stuff was made by the same armory that makes Wolf?

I got some Brown Bear with my Ishapore "Enfield" 2A and it shot fine. It was a bit dirty but nothing a normal cleaning couldn't handle.

The Bear and Wolf ammo is made by different russian ammo companies. Also I think the Gold Bear and Wolf stuff is made by another company either PP or S&B. Search around to find out the names of the companies they are tossed around all the time. I have never used the stuff so I don't really know off the top of my head.
