I just got back from my first range trip with my new M&P 45. Disappointingly, I had failure to feeds and failure to go into battery out of nearly every magazine fired. The rounds would seem to hang about 2/3 into the chamber. Sometimes a tap on the rear of the slide would cause it to go into battery, twice I had to rip the magazine free to clear a double feed. Ammo fired was 250 rds of mostly Winchester 230 ball with some gold dot and DPX mixed in. Failures occured with both magazines and seemed if anything to get more prevelent as the session went on. Usually I find SW autos perfectly reliable with poor ergonomics (for my hand at least). This gun feels great in the hand and was accurate and comfortable to shoot, but thus far is terribly unreliable. I've got an email in to Smith and Wesson, and I'm sure their customer service will make it right, but wonder if anyone else has had problems or if I managed to find the proverbial lemon.
