I ordered a gun through my FFL last Wednesday. I'm 99% sure he ordered through Davidsons and as far as I know it hasn't been shipped!

My FFL called Friday to tell me that they were shipping it that night. Apparently they apologized for the delay and said they've been swamped. They told him it would be shipped that day. After hearing nothing, I called again and Tuesday to hear the same story and that they would ship it out Tuesday night.

Anyone had problems with this company in the past? I don't really see why something would take 6 days to ship unless it was out of stock and they lied about that. As of now I'm not even sure it has shipped....

I think every dealer out there is behind. Evidently, Feb broke the record for single month gun sales ever. I just had mine shipped from Buds after an eleven day wait. I love GOG and usually always use them and have my gun in hand by the 2nd/3rd day. So is not the norm for them.

I wouldn't worry too much. They are a big distributor and like any business, they can get backed up. I once ordered an AR upper from a company and it took weeks to come in because of some supplier issues. Stuff happens.

I've only bought one gun from Davidson and had no issues. YMMV

I received a lengthy email from Buds Gun Shop today with an 'appology about shipping delays explained'. It wasn't directed at me personally, it was sent out to, I assume all customers, cuz the rifle I ordered from them came in less than a week.

However, the letter said they were 5 times busier this February, then the same time in 2009. They are over whelmed with orders and falling behind in fullfilling them. They've added extra help and expanding warehouse space and are starting to catch up.

I imagine it is happening with ALL major sellers. I get notices about various uppers for AR15's on sale from Midway, they sell out within a day. Went to a gun show last weekend and it was just crazy busy. I bought two guns. While waiting to pay for one, I was 8th in line to pay, and by the time it was my turn, 12 more had been added to the pile behind me. By Sunday afternoon, even the larger dealers there had vacant areas on their tables.

IMO, it's good to see so much interest in gun, but at the same time, can't help but think prices will go up until after election. If the President gets re-elected, I imagine it will be insane trying to buy a gun shortly after election.

I figured thats what it is. I'm just ancy waiting on my new friend to get here:rolleyes:

The FFL I use runs his business as a side job to 2 or 3 other occupations. Apparently he used to sell a few guns a month, mostly through orders, now he's busy all the time.

I do like that more and more responsible citizens are buying guns, especially through dealers. I don't know how most of you feel about the FFL system, but it's nice to be able to point to their sharp increase in business to show our "liberal friends" that it isn't criminals buying the guns up. It's people who can pass background checks.

I have no problem with the background check for the same reasons as yours. But I live in a place where there is no waiting period, so it's just an extra step in the check out line. One less for me with my CCL, no phone call has to be made.

I was reading about the states contemplating constitutional carry of conceal weapons, no license required. I can see that this could cause concerns. Yet at the same time, it shouldn't. The reason I can see a concern is anyone could carry, criminals and all, without any sort of background check. Then I thought, a criminal is going to carry regardless. However, as in Kansas, there are X amount of applicants that do get turned down for their background. These might very well be people that would be fine to carry, if they cleaned up their record, or simply waited an appropriate amount of time which would reinstate their gun rights. This group of people might simply be ignorant of the law, and if there were a constitutional carry, might be in some big trouble should they get checked, only to find out they were'nt eligible to posses a gun in the first place.

Either way, I'm OK with the way most things are, I have my guns, I have my ability to carry. I just don't have enough money.

Davidson's

I've bought two thru them in the last two years, both delivered to LGS in 2 or 3 days.

davidson's was my first distributor when I started selling guns 20 years ago , I have never had an order that did not ship the same day it was placed. this goes for ones I place as well as Gun Genie orders , if it is placed before the cut off time, it ships.

Business is "booming" in the firearms areas, accessories as well. I know my orders for the front sight tools that I make doubled in February, and no slowdown yet.

I guess I'm part of the backlog. :)

My FFL, who also works for a living, has GOG hold his orders and they ship Thursdays arriving by noon on Fridays.

I noticed the inventory of the model was dropping rapidly when I ordered and it's no longer listed in inventory.

anyone else having trouble accessing budsgunshop.com? This down time for them should give them the opportunity to catch up on shipping. :p
