Took the wife to a outdoor range to shoot her G17. She asked to shoot the G44. Loaded a mag for her and 3 shots later the extractor flew out. Unable to locate it. I believe it’s Glock part #39070.
Thanks

What are the first 4 letters of your G44 serial number?

Glock changed the extractor on all G44's starting with the prefix AEHK and later.

There are two extractors available, the old style and the new style. It is very important that you get the correct extractor, they are NOT interchangeable.
Part number 39070 - marked 39070
Part number 50702 - marked 39070-1

On left is the new style extractor (50702) and right is the old style (39070)

And the reason that Glock gave for updating the extractor and slide is that the old style extractor was breaking due to people letting the slide slam shut onto chamber flags. My G44 has teh old style extractor and I haven't had a single problem with it. I don't let the slide slam shut on chamber flag either.

And @JN01 is correct, contact Glock for warranty repair. Also if your Glock does have the old style extractor, don't let the slide slam shut onto chamber flags.

The first 4 digits of the serial # is ADPN. From my research it uses the old style extractor and the two different extractors are not interchangeable. The slide was not damaged. Still waiting on reply from Glock.

The firearm had a loaded magazine inserted. After the 3rd rd the extractor blew out so I would assume the slide was not slammed shut on an empty chamber.

Is this a brand new pistol and was it your first time shooting it?

From what you say, it almost sounds like the extractor plunger was installed backwards with the spring loaded bearing against the extractor instead of against the cover plate.

And yes you need to old style extractor. My pistol is ADUS and it also has the old style.

@Pat Riot Thanks for the lead. They had 1 in stock and will ship to US. A tad expensive on freight but we’ll worth it.

Gun has around 150 rds thru it. Extractor was never taken out. Once Glock has them available I’m ordering a extra one. Thanks folks
