Friend misplaced his only magazine for his Keltec P3AT. I know, I know. lol

Since the original Ruger LCP was such a clone of the P3AT, wondering if one of my LCP mags would work?

I'd appreciate if anyone with both could please check if an original LCP mag locks in to the P3AT.

Thanks

LCP and P-3AT magazine springs and followers are identical on the first magazines that Ruger supplied. Later versions of the Ruger follower are slightly different but still interchange.
The base plates and locking plate are interchangeable, but different cosmetically.
The main reason the assembled magazines will not interchange is that the slot for the magazine catch is approximately 3 mm higher or further from the bottom of the tube on the P-3AT magazine. The tubes appear to be identical otherwise, except for the logos, so the difference in slot location makes the presentation of the round at the top a mismatch.

Tell your friend that his epitaph could read:

“Here lies John Doe. He was cheap and now he’s dead!” :p
