Ruger LCP - I picked it up

WWB 95gr which is flat nose

I bought some WWB, 95gr, FMJ from Walmart which is flat nose and fired about 50 rounds with no problems. I didn't notice how far the brass was being ejected or the condition of the brass. i"ll have to check next time. This is the first .380 I ever shot and pistol this small, and was surprised by the recoil. I probably would like to get one of those mag extensions for a better grip when they become available.

Picked up the second test sample today, took it out of the box & put about 75 rounds of 8 different loads through it, testing for function.
Still does not feed the same two loads the first sample didn't, but ejection was much tamed & case rims are no longer torn like they were in the first sample.
Ruger's made a slight change in production in relieving a corner of the alloy sub-frame under the ejector that was getting peened on some LCPs, including my first sample. No peening on the second one, and we're associating that with the subdued ejection pattern.

That Win white box flatnosed FMJ from WallMart works fine in both test pistols here.

I think the gun's ready for prime time (as long as you don't try to get too carried away with it :D).
I'll be buying the second sample. Maybe the first one, too. :)

I put another 50-60 of walmart special through it today. I have a full body target on a 3/4 piece of plywood proped up againt a 50 gallon drum. I was suprise that alot of rounds (4/6) only dented the back side of the drum and stayed in. They look pretty cool. I plan on putting some wood in the drum to stop all the rounds, then putting some JHP in to check the expansion.

I got to compare the LCP to my P3AT and they look almost identical. The local gun shop was asking $499 for the LCP, which was a rip-off. The Ruger looks like it has more quality to it and it has a manual slide lock, something the KT lacks. There is a good comparison here:
