Just wondering if anyone has bought one of the CMMG AR15 rifle kits and how is the quality. Their site says it comes with everything except the stripped lower receiver. Any problems/concerns would be helpful to hear about before dropping $450-$500. Thanks in advance.

Everyone always recommends CMMG bargain bin stuff when they have them so I am assuming that they are decent enough.

I have shot one or 2 and I read only good reviews, on AR15.com, on their rifles and uppers for .223/5.56, 9mm and .22lr. Most users like their .22 conversion kit. I didnt care for my conversion kit and sold it. Even with that said, i would have no issue buying one of their uppers or rifles.

I cant speak directly to CMMG's kits, but I can say that my .22lr upper is awesome. I shoot it weekly and it runs without a hitch. CMMG is G2G in my book.

I have two CMMG complete rifles. Never a problem, fit and finish I will put next to any rifle in black I have ever seen.

CMMG leaves a bit to be desired as far as the mil-spec standard goes. Their bolts are questionable and there is/was speculation on what kind of barrel steel they actually used. However, in the past year, they really upped their quality some.

Although their bargain bins are good buys, you can find better upper/BCG combos out there for the same or less price. But, if you do go with a CMMG rifle, it will be good to go. However, as said, for the money you can do better nowadays.
