I am talking about America's Army, the computer game. It is free to download, at http://www.americasarmy.com/

The reason I am asking is that people always talk about SHTF scenarios. The thing thatg makes this game so good is that it will punish you for shooting people on your own team. Accidentally, or on purpose. Before you walk away laughing, try to imagine that no matter how skilled you are, you will do it when bad guys attack. You will hit your own guys. Without fail. They have a shoothouse scenario where you can use a pistol, and you will shoot civilians.

They have MILES training scenarios, and you will shoot guys on your own team. Think about SHTF, and bloodlust, and how nice people will be after you light up your neighbors. I think that for anyone who is really serious about training, that the game can and will teach you fire discipline. Does it translate to the real world? Well, the Army, and lots of depts and gov agencies use simulators. But they have actual weapons pointed at the screen, and life sized street scenarios, etc. I do imagine it can help somewhat. Besides, it's fun. The computer requirements, etc, are listed on their website. Along with some real stories from the front. Pretty cool, IMO.

And I was an Air Force guy.

Stretchman,
America's Army is a game. While you can learn from just about anything, America's Army is not a training simulation and that makes it off topic here.
