Anyone here scope a Yugo mauser?

Ya, but I used the big, black, aftermarket stock with the built-in scope mount (ATI). I think it's great, shoots under 2" @ 100 yds easily, and gets weird "the heck is that?!" looks from most people at the range.

My original stock was beyond repair (termites/grenade?), but the bore was excellent, so I decided to go this route. I call it "Big Boris." Pretty cool, actually. Also went with a Timney.

:)

Good group there. The big advantage of a scout scope on these rifles is you can adjust to cope with the extra elevation of Turk rounds, or for low-powered American rounds. The Turks are basically 8x57JS Light Magnums, BTW. IIRC they were clocked in excess of 3,000 fps. If you want a really cool target, just set up a half inch steel plate and see what happens to it! There's one at the gun shop that has holes MELTED through it. Impressive stuff. Course it's also the most corrosive ammo known to man.

Yeah, definately don't shoot the turk stuff if you don't have time to clean the rifle as soon as you get home. I love it, it's super cheap and it performs well in all my mausers, but you can almost see the corrosion creep and grow after shooting it.
