Anyone interested in a Meet and Greet shoot in San Antonio Texas

I was at bullet hole shooting range today and talking to Michelle she said if some of us THR folks wanted to try and set something up at thier range that maybe something could happen.

I have never tried to organize anything like this but I recently went to one of our fellow forum members shoots in Austin and it was a blast. I would love to see something like that here in SA.

The bullethole is a pretty cool place, they have full auto rentals and a dedicated place to fire off full auto, they have steel plates, they do bowling pin shootouts, of course they have your typical rifle and pistol areas etc...

Its just a suggestion, no promises but if anyone is interested, please say so in this thread.

Yeah, we can orginize anything out here. We can do a shoot or have a Dinner somewhere. We have had shoots before for websited and even had an overnight campout for one gun board.

I'd never heard of the Bullethole until I read this thread. I've shot at the Blackhawk range and the Bracken range though.

Good news, good news, well lets give it some more time to allow people to see this thread and once it appears theres enough folks interested then I can talk to thier management, find out the details of what can be done, cost, ???? like that and we can go from there.

If you have not been out there yet, head on out. Give em a whirl, its a nice place to spend a beautiful morning or afternoon.

I'll only be in San Antonio for a week, starting around 2/24.

I'm going to make a point of going to the Bullet Hole while I'm there, but don't actually have my schedule, yet.

Main things I learned from organizing the Austin Shoot:

1) Someone eventually has to toss out a proposed date, otherwise discussion meanders for weeks.
2) Don't schedule the same day as the SAXET gunshow
3) You get a lot more folks if you spend an hour or so beating the bushes to find local members using the Search engine; not many folks actually read the Rallying Point regularly.
4) Once you have a tentative date, ask local supporters to add a "Come to our San Antonio THR Shoot" blurb in their siglines, with a link to the discussion thread.

Rounding up folks is kind of tricky at first, but if you pick a set date (maybe 3-4 weeks out?), and start PMing local members, you can do pretty well. We got about twenty-some interested parties on our Austin thread, of whom about 14 came to the shoot. Great time was had by all.

Midland is a pretty good distance from San Antonio, but I'm interested. I just need to know a date so I can check my schedule. I work a lot of weekends you see. Gotta keep the oil movin' in those pipes 24/7.

sadly some variables have changed in my life and I wont be personally trying to set anything like this anytime soon but the seed is planted and if anyone else was interested in getting one going, please by all means do so

I bought some concert tix and spent way too much so Im streamlining everything fun and having to stick to a very tight budget now Spending money on ammo and other hobbies is just not part of the equation right now haha. Hey, I got front row so it was worth the sacrifices
