Anyone know about swords?

I agree that Sword Buyers Guide is an excellent starting point.

I bought a Ronin Dojo Pro Ko Katana. No regrets, in my opinion it is a nice katana for the money. I actually bought direct from Ronin, getting a monthly special deal, got the Ko real cheap, 200 or so. Check their website. I believe SBG gives a limited warranty that Ronin did not advertise. The blade cut traditional mats very well. As advertised. Do not expect perfect fittings etc., but a nice blade.

I am a true novice, and quickly realized that this blade could kill or injure me, so I put it away and brought a wooden practice katana to gain confidence without much fear of injury.
