They don't list any of the Hornady shell plates out of stock, which makes me nervous. I got burned by Wideners last week, and don't want to deal with that again.
It's the company that publishes Handloader and their site does appear to be getting updates. You may have just found something others missed. I had no idea they sold components till now.
I just ordered 1,000 Hornady 22 cal 55 grain soft points with for $26 per bag of 250. Not the greatest price after shipping and tax (Arizona) but at least they were in stock. Shipping was bit high on them. Came out to $140 per 1,000 shipped. We'll see how they perform on the shipping side of things.
I subscribe to their "LoadData.com" It gives a quick look at different loads published for a particular bullet. I still rely on my trusty Hornaday and Lyman manuals for the final word though.
I got burned by them today. I ordered the same billets listed above on this thread, and tonight received an email stating that they were not on stock. Caveat Emptor!
Lennyjoe, it's not your fault. I had never heard of Wolf Publishing until today. You were trying to help the rest of us get some stuff we need. They look like they have put a lot into their website, but they have lost my business. Now I have to be diligent and ensure they don't charge my credit card.
I've ordered various items from them. Unfortunately, they do not note when there is no stock. They did send me an email asking me what I wanted to do, and I was able to talk to someone right away. At my request they cancelled the bullets I ordered and shipped the remainder of my order pronto. Thinking that they had my bullets in stock was wishful thinking. They were pleasant to deal with and I didn't take offense simply because they ultimately didn't have stock of the bullets I wanted. I get the idea that they are like Amazon. Amazon doesn't stock the items but orders direct from those that do for shipping direct to you.
I did order them from Weidners and am waiting on delivery. I have ordered from them before too without issue. What exactly do you all mean by being "burned" by them.
They sent me an email last night telling me everything was out of stock. I put it all on back order - they estimate mid July. Maybe I'll find them between now and then.
It appears their website doesn't automatically update for quantities, which is easily gotten around by a simple phone call. Even old tried and true websites are having difficulty staying updated. The telephone is your friend. Call them and find out about stock before placing the order.
I'm not understanding the "burned" part either. Did they charge you for something and not deliver?
