Anyone sleep with a fan on/going?

My rooms in the basement and I do use a fan during the warm parts of the year(anything over 60) because I like sleeping when its cool. During the winter, mother nature helps out with that and keeps my room in the upper 30s to the lower 60s anyway so I leave the fan off to stave off hypothermia :D

I need the white noise background to sleep soundly. Otherwise any little sound will wake me up. A few years ago I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and Dr said I needed a machine hooked up to keep me breathing through the night.
As a last ditch effort I thought I'd try closing the window and bought an air purifier (filter type) to run 24/7 in my room. As it turned out I had allergies that triggered the apnea. Now I sleep just fine with background noise and clean air. :)
