So I'm living in hanover, but I can't setup my dillon 550 in my dorm. Anyone live within 30 miles of hanover? If you have a dillon 550 I could bring over my toolhead and provide compensation of some sort. If you don't have a dillon, I could lend you mine if you set it up and let me use in occasionally. I've got the dies for 38 spl, 357 mag, 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 223, 30-06.

Thanks,

I decided to go portable, finally, cause my shop ain't air conditioned. What I did was mount my Dillon Square Deal and my old Lyman turret press on 2x10s. I bought a fold up portable work bench similar to the Black and Decker Workmate, only it was $9.99 on sale from 18 bucks at Harbor Freight. I clamp the 2x 10 in it and add a C clamp on the off side to keep it on the bench, and then go to town reloading in the house in the AC in the heat of summer. :D

Of course, if you have a dorm room the size of my Daughter's at SF Austin U, you'll be lacking space even for this. My rooms at Texas A&M were quite large. I swear, she was living in a friggin' closet. She didn't particularly get along with her roomy either. :D

Wow having similar type of conflict, Texas heat and no AC in garage plus being next to Gulf not best conditions. I am using 2x8 x 18 with 2 c clamps on computer desk. Old Lady hates it.Having something I could roll into closest after wards would get her off my back. You wouldn`t have a picture so I can see your setup Please.

Just a minute and I'll take one, have the dillon set up on it right now in the kitchen, LOL! Yeah, I live right across the street from Lavaca bay. My stuff gets rusty if I don't use it. Soon as that &@#*#% kid graduates UH Victoria and gets the heck out of my house, her room is mine....

Thank you very much.... Heading to the harbor freight in Pasadena after work. I realy like that setup, and hopefully Old lady will too. Live In Kemah Tx

Hah, back when I lived in berkeley I drilled 6 holes in my desk and just broke it out whenever I needed. Then again storing a small arsenal, 3000 rounds of ammo, 2000 primers, and 8 pounds of smokeless was a flagrant violation of the house rules of the co-op I lived in. Fortunately I had a "special understanding" with the management so I was tolerated. However, now I'm living in a campus dorm so I have to "keep my nose clean". That means storing all of my gun and reloading stuff in the campus armory. Hence my only option is to load off campus.

Wow, I'm surprised they didn't lynch you at Berkley. Well, I guess they don't believe in capital punishment there, but locking you up in the town square and hurling ridicule your way, maybe? Perhaps they could burn your SUV in effigy? :D

Live In Kemah Tx

My old man used to have a sailboat there in a marina. He later got a condo off NASA Rd 1 on clear lake with a slip for his boat. Now, he's finishing out his days in a trailer in Pearland.

I worked at the TP&W lab one summer there in Seabrook. Haven't been down there since the built the boardwalk. We've been meaning to do that sometime.

believe it or not, most berkeleyans were pretty cool about the whole gun thing. I took a LOT of people shooting for the first time. Perhaps it helped that I own motorcycles rather than SUV's ;)

But, an armed biker is a liberal's worst nightmare. :D

Interesting they'd be that accepting of the whole notion of firearms out there. I guess all the crap that comes out of that place is maybe not the dead truth of the matter, but I wouldn't tell my sociology professor I owned guns. :uhoh: LOL

Getting off topic of course, but up until 1967, Texas A&M was an all male military school. It's still quite conservative, George Bush library should prove that. Anyway, friend of mine's dad went there in the 40s, graduated '42. He said they had to take the cadet's 03 Springfield rifles away from them because at night, the dorms would take turns seeing who could shoot the red light out off the top of the academic building. ROFLMAO!

We couldn't have guns in the dorm when I was there, so I kept mine in the trunk of my car when I lived on campus. But, they didn't care about powder or ammo or what-not, just the firearms. Costly keeping those lights burning on campus I reckon. LOL! I just used to use a Lee hand tool in my room. The roomy left every weekend, so I didn't bother him, either.

>an armed biker is a liberal's worst nightmare.

I contend a berkeley liberal is WORLDs apart from your standard east coast big government liberal. The average berkeley liberal distrusts all large institutions, corporations, governments, organized religions. They stand for peace and the freedom to do mostly do what you want, so long as you don't hurt others. Their knowledge of economics is atrocious. Armed bikers are basically the ultimate "free spirit", some berkeley types can "groove" off of that.

Jeez, they still tie dye out there? ROFLMAO! Reminds me of this CL350 I bought once for ten bucks. I actually got it running without a lot of trouble, just had to put a battery in it and clean the carbs. On the gas tank was painted "Sunshine Superman" with some picture of something, don't remember, very Berkeley hippyish. IIRC it was a 69 model, smack in the free love era. Had Texas plates, though. Always figured that thing was a west coast immigrant. :D

ROFL. On telegraph ave there's a tiedye vendor that does good business selling shirts to uc-berkeley freshmen.
