Anything I'm missing to get started on 223?

Don't dilute that lube too much or you'll end up with stuck cases!

When you use up all those CCI 41s, compare prices with standard small rifle primers. The only gun I need to use the military style primers in to prevent slam fires is an SKS. I use regular small rifle (mostly Winchester) for all my ARs with no problems at all.

For hunting PD the Midsouth Varmint Nightmare (Hornady 55gr SP) work quite well, and they are fine for target shooting also.

I've used the lee stuff, the hornady one shot spray, and now hornady's unique. The unique is hands down the best of those 3. I can't recommend it enough. I don't know what I am doing wrong with the spray, but I might as well not use it for all the good it does. Lee works fine but the unique applies better and easier.

I've read a bunch of people are less than happy with the One Shot. The consensus seems to be its great for pistol brass but less than ideal for especially FL sizing bottleneck cartridges.

I'm a class 06 manufacturer, and I load a bunch of rounds. I've tried different lubes, including One Shot. I'm using pump-type spray bottle lubes now, either by Dillon or Midway.

I'd be interested in the OP's doing some experiements, demonstrating the amount of accuracy gain by running an already-sized case through a Lee Collet Die. I've used the Lee Collet Die quite a bit, with excellent results; just doubt that the OP will notice an accuracy gain by using the die post-f.l. sizing. (I'm always open to edification; please do some accuracy testing.)

The only 3-gun matches I've ever observed were on TV. I've never seen them shoot their ARs at 600 yds. Is that common?

i really like the lee case lube, and I dilute it 1:10 with 91% isopropyl, as per the Lee instructions in the lee loading manual.
i would reccomend finding some kind of metal/plastic container for you to use, rather than a ziplock. this way you can reuse the container many more times, and you will always have a little bit of lube on the walls.
I used a ziplock and they eventually get cut up, and don't mix as well as a container to shake.
At first, you should probably use enough to get all the cases pretty lubed up, and over time, you can start decreasing the amount of sprays you use till you find what works for you.

the lee stuff is great, won't affect primers or powder, and wont get your fingers too nasty.

ps hentown: im not a 3gun guy, but if I do my part, my AR will make solid hits on a 7"x9" steel plate out to 600 yards, and still have enough velocity to tumble/fragment to bust up water jugs.
those were just my full length sized 55gr plinking loads with 5744 designed to cycle an H2 buffer, not really for accuracy.

Probably not too common. I go to one of only 8 ranges in the country with a 1k yd range IIRC and they set the 600yd off the side of one of the last tactical bays into whats the bench rifle range. The range I go to Best of the West http://texasshootingrange.com/. Just take a look at the range on Google Maps satellite view and drool :D

Thnx for the tip, I was also going to try using some of my ziplock tupperwares for the lubing but only saw suggestions in the reviews of using a ziplock baggie.

So you don't tumble again after your sizing with lee lube? That will be a handy time saver if I don't have to. Might even use it on my 9mm loads too if that's the case.

I too have a pretty freaking accurate AR (shoots about 1.5 @ 100 or better with regular 55gr factory) that I've taken out to 500 on man sized steel. You'd never guess that's its a factory light profile DPMS Oracle chromemoly barrel. Was really surprised when I was only about 2 months into shooting period and went to qualify for the 500+ section at that range. Took about 10 shots to zero it in (was rather hard with a 1-4x and basically had to guess I was on when I didn't see dirt puffs on the berm), once the RO got back to me to see my 5 shots on target I nailed all 5 in a row to qualify with about a 9mph cross wind.
