Brethren of the Black Gun:
Just sold my Bushy A2 upper and have purchased the Armalite upper flattop. On the Bushy I had a single accessory rail with a vertical grip...very tight! In doing the same with the Armalite, the factory handguard is loose. I know that removing the handguard from the Bushy to instal the rail was certainly more of a bear than that of the Armalite...lots of wiggle with the Armalite. What's up with that? I can only compare to that of a Bushy since that is the only AR I have had.
BTW, first session with the Armalite upper (and Bushy lower) was smokin'. Ran about 100 rounds through the goose with very good accuracy...using an EO 512. After 80 or so rounds at 50 yds, I moved to the 100 mark and allowed the barrel to cool...1st shot perfect zero! The wind was gusty as hell, though, and things got sketchy after that. Happy with her so far...except with the travel in the forearm. Will a machined two-piece/quad rail stiffen things up?
