Well folks, finally another project completed.
Armalite M15 A4T Upper with 24" Free Floated Barrel.
Bushmaster "BF" Prefix Lower with Rock River Arms Green Furniture.
Armalite 1pc Mount
Leupold VXII 3-9x40mm Scope
Tomorrow I take her out to the range and needless to say, I'm very excited about it! I'll also post a range report in addition to this.
Some Pics and other things I noticed.
The first image is of the complete rifle. Some things are a bit off shade because I didn't oil everything down to make things match before taking the pics. I was a bit of a hurry, still things matched pretty good. The Armalite upper is a very close shade to the Bushy Lower, even without an oil coating. Upper and lower fit was acceptable, but I will get a tensioning pin to get a "zero" slop fit.
This next pic is of the balance point of the rifle. I would have thought that the balance would be muzzle heavy because of the heavy 24" stainless steel barrel, but I was wrong. As you can see in the pic she balances a bit forward of the FFHG ring. Adding a loaded magazine makes an extremely stable platform to fire from. Ohh..and that's a wooden train whistle. The barrel also has a recessed crown to help prevent damgage.
This next picture is a bit blurry, but it marks an Armalite upper. "AR" and a "+ " in a circle much like the NATO mark.
This next pic was a pleasant surprise. "M4" type feedramp cuts for reliable feeding.
Stainless steel railed gas block secured by allen head bolts instead of conventional pins. You can also see the handguard "cap". The handguards are fiberglass and very sturdy in feel. They are a bit smooth so I may be looking for some skateboard tape or something of that nature to add some gripping texture. Folks with large hands will love this hanguard. They feel huge in comparison to other conventional free float "varminter/target" handguards on the market. They feel about the same diameter of a railed handguard with panels installed, almost like gripping a tennis ball. The handguards also had a stud and a QD swivel attatched at the factory.
Overall I am very pleased with this new project. I'll have a range report tomorrow.
Good Shooting
