AR carry handle scope suggestions.

Wow, had not seen a camo-painted smooth-finish K-pot in decades--that's a trip down memory lane. As is the AN/PVS, too.

The AN/PVS-4 felt big and clunky even when mounted to a M60.

To keep subject, I understand that some want a carry handle mounted scope either because that is what they have or they want something retro. Definitely stick with the smallest scopes possible when doing this .

The A2 optimizes the open sight (as i prefer) but enables scope, just not in best position. Mine lets you see thru the mount & see the sights w scope mounted. The big plus of it is it is quickly removed. I can put the scope on when desired & removed most of the time. If you were going to use the scope as a primary, get a flattop. If you use the sights most of the time & scope only occasionally(as I do) the A2 rules.

Hbars are pretty heavy as it is. I'd try to keep it light.

The little primary arms 3x is nice for the price, but it ain't no ACOG. Still, I know a few guys that run them and they like them well enough. My real problem with them is the mounting system. With the way it would mount to a carry handle, its going to be a bit fragile, for lack of a better word. The optic would be sitting out back on the end of a lever with the optic fastened at the other end of the lever by a single screw. I think I could bend or break that just by looking at it hard enough.

For your stated purpose, I'd consider a ta44, 1.5x ACOG.

ACOG. The base of all of them (like the PVS-4) is an M16 carry handle direct mount when you remove the railgrabber or whatever is on the bottom of it.

Hole through the middle allows full use of irons still.
