I've got a line on 8 lbs of AR Comp and I'm wondering if I should lay out for it without doing a trial run. What I mean is I dont want to get into 8 lbs of powder and have it not work for what I intend. They have some 1 lb bottles of AR Comp and IMR 4895. I've just been thinking I need to get a bigger bottle for loading 223.

How does it compare with H335?

Should I wait till I find some more H335 or just commit to a large amount of AR Comp?

What would you do?

Shooting a Mini 14 and 16" AR. Loading 55gr Xtreme FMJBT.

If all you are shooting is FMJ-BT bullets?

Powder doesn't matter much, as long as it goes bang and cycles the action.

Loading for accuracy, Accuracy, and FMJ-BT bullets are not mutually agreeable words in the same sentence.

Considering Alliant developed that powder specifically for AR style rifles I don't think you made a mistake. Alliant supplies load data for the .223, 22-250, .243 win, 260 Rem, .308 Win, .338 Federal and the 7mm08 so it's a fairly versatile powder. I don't know how it compares to H335 because I have never used AR-Comp but like I said, Alliant developed that powder around the AR platform so it should be just fine.
