that's no better than an unsupported statement advising for a product without specifying reasons.
Bingo-bango.
This thread is full of "worthless" frankly. "I use this" and "I use that", so what? Use it for what? How? How often? In what environment? etc.
I am fortunate enough that I attend at least two carbine training classes a year, run a monthly drills night for between 10 and 20 shooters where we fire +/- 200 rounds a month, and run a monthly carbine match for between 15 and 30 shooters where we fire between 100 and 200 rounds a month.
Pmags and the military contract mags are the best things going in magazines right now.
I have orchestrated two group buys of the Bravo Company magazines with the green followers (they weren't doing the Magpuls at the time). That's 200 of these magazines that have come through my hands and are now in the hands of shooters who participate in the above events with me. To date there have been ZERO reported magazine related failures. None.
I have yet to witness a Pmag failing at any of the above events. Because they are the hot new thing, I would say that at least 1/4 of our shooters have been running these magazines at drills and matches over the last year or so. There were some early Pmags that had issues dropping free from some tight magwells, but virtualy all of these have been returned to Magpul or are at least sold out and in the hands of other shooters. If you're buying new stock you will be fine.
I have owned several CProducts magazines. I bought 5 of the stainless steel magazines that wouldn't feed (followers binding) and I bought 5 of the 9mm magazines that wouldn't feed (same problem). Attempts to resolve both of these issues with Larry were less than helpful, and in fact he simply KEPT the returned 9mm magazines and then claimed to have not received them, and then stopped answering my calls. I have also personally witnessed more than a couple (sorry, no hard number here) of the CP magazines fail at matches and drills, mostly due to the same binding follower issue. This leads me to believe that, while the company may produce a decent product, their QC sucks and the chances of getting a bad one are high, and the chances that the owner will do anything to help you after the sale are slim to none.
The bottom line is that with two superior products, the Pmags and BCM D&H mags, there is really NO reason anyone should buy a CP magazine, a Promag, etc. It's really a no-brainer. Do you want a magazine that may or may not work from a company that may or may not make it right, or a magazine that WILL work and in the rare event that it won't its' from a company that WILL make it right (witness the thousands of free magazines Magpul sent out due to the magwell issue).
