AR optics

I got a Tru Glo Red Dot for my AR for Christmas...Need optic...I removed carry handle from my rifle and set the scope on it just to see how it will look...the Red Dot hits about half up the front blade sight...How can I mount the scope so that it is above the front sight...I know very little about AR's and their accessories...so any help would be great...
