AR price war at DFW gunshows

By the way, my prediction for the next sellers' market: Summer through October 2012, when a goodly chunk of the mentally challenged may indeed have their panties in a wad over the Mayan calendar, and the end of the world will be upon us yet again.

What good is an AR in that case? That makes it even doubly retarded.

I find it hard to believe that anyone was selling 6920s for $999. Sorry.

:rolleyes:You might find it believable if you had bothered to read the link in the original post:http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=8&t=383784
There isn't anything incredible about that price. All AR prices are falling. Those of us in Texas are just blessed to have as many big gun shows as we do. Occassionally a couple of dealers will drop prices just to aggrevate another dealer. That's what happened here.

Schramm's, Bachman Pawn and AJC all got in a price war.

Down with the bulletcrap! I will boycott them forever on the basis that they are charging $6000 for an FNH SCAR-L. You know, only $3500 over retail!!! IT's pretty typical of that establishment though. If you like supporting filthy gougers you should shop there. Otherwise, go somewhere reputable. Sorry, I had to add that in.

I don't really see guns as an investment (at least not in dollars), but just because prices are lower now doesn't mean they will always be that way... This is a very volatile market. Supply has caught up with demand in many ways (in the firearms industry as a whole), for the time being...

I read a news article today that stated that Mexico wants the US to bring back the "assault weapons" ban because of the druggies. :scrutiny:

Then the Obamalamas could bring it back for the good of "foreign relations".
And we ALL know how much the Prez like to keep other countries happy.

Task force seeks ban on assault weapons
Group also wants overhaul of Mexican border agencies

Friday, November 13, 2009

A binational task force on U.S.-Mexico border issues will call Friday on the Obama administration and Congress to reinstate an expired ban on assault weapons and for Mexico to overhaul its frontier police and customs agencies to mirror the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

That could start a reversal of the price drops..........

just to play devils advocate. hindsight is 20/20. those guys gambled and lost. it could easily be that there's a new assault weapons ban after Obama took office, and those $1700 guns are now worth $2700.

I have never paid any more than $650 for any of mine except the one I bought from my son and I did that to help him out. Even my preban HBar NIB was $650 give or take back when GHWB first started all the crap and Colt started cutting of the bayonet lugs.

At both the Fort Worth & Bigtown gun shows, three dealers were pricing NIB Colt 6920's for $999 or less. Kinda blows for those who thought AR's would be a good investment. They still may, but it ain't gonna be anytime soon.

There will be another run on AR's before the end of the Obama administration, and they will again sell for greater than $1500. If health care gets passed (it has now cleared the House), liberals will be emboldened to push forward on the gun issue.

I agree there will probably always be spikes in the firearms market in general and especially on items that are percieved to be in danger.
Peaks mean valleys and that is the place I like to do business.

If the Democrats survive next years mid term elections, they will be emboldened to pursue anti-gun legislation. In fact, Obama has already reversed the US position on the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Hillary announced on October 14 that we now support this.

As soon as stuff like this starts getting reported again, the fever for AR's will return to the American consumer.

So, I would say, if you bought an AR for $1700, just hold on to it... you will probably be able to get $2000 for it by the end of the Obama presidency.

Once upon a ....

What we all have to do is read about this nut case Major who shot dead our future Grand Dads and Grandmas in Texas. Those lovely young people who will not grow old with their children.

I personally did not see one TV News talking head say word one about "Gun Control" News papers either, why? focus is on reality now, focus on the dropping of the ball on the gutless bosses who moved that poor performer out of their unit, mild bad reviews on paper! Political correctness my A+++!

Me personally again (it is my lap top don't you know!) start with say the Marines (no reason really) locked and cocked every waking hour they are on duty.

Treat our troops like troops.

Keep Safe.

With all due respect I own the RRA None full automatic civilian version, what do I need to know Sir?

as a side note, in California we ended up with 200,000-300,00 more ebr's in in the last year! unfortunately, they were overpaid for, but yeah @ least there is more in the pool
