I have a full size A2 fixed carry handle anyone ever mount a scope on it
with the goose neck mount ?
not looking to change the upper just thinking of adding a scope to it ?
If anyone used the goose neck mount how does it work

A decent gooseneck mount will likely cost about the same or more as a new upper...

About the only decent solution to the carry handle optics issue was the Colt scope.

The carry handle picatinny mounts from A.R.M.S. or Leupold are good, then just use the lowest profile rings you can find.

Having said that, many find the lack of cheek weld with a standard stock makes it a less than ideal set-up, and opt to add a cheek riser, pad or stock with adjustable riser, like the Magpul PRS or Luth_AR MBS.

I ran a Leupold mount on my Armalite M15A2C with an old Redfield 3-9x. I found it pretty useable. Used the A.R.M.S. mount on my 10A2C. This is an older pic, (5 of these 7 were sold/traded, and the M-15 has changed a lot), but nonetheless should give you a good idea of where optics end up sitting on an A2:

These days the M15 wears a Burris Fastfire III, as I have built rifles more appropriate for magnified optics uses.
